Discover the essential nuts and bolts of successful co-production!

This course will give you the essential knowledge and understanding to start to develop co-production within your community or service. It will help you address issues such as a lack of organisational buy-in, engagement from colleagues and people with lived experience, evidencing co-production and keeping up momentum.

Who is this for?

This course is for initiators, leads of co-production, those interested in or just starting out on co-production as well as commissioning leads, managers, frontline workers, volunteers and, those currently using services.

Duration

The course consists of 3 live interactive training modules, which will take place over 3 consecutive weekly instalments.

Being the Difference

Being the Difference is our 2 day flagship event. It aims to get bring a local group together, getting past the labels that we carry, recognising the skills that we have and creating a space of equality and inclusion that allows collective decision making. Beyond that this course will not only inspire but develop and build confidence within the group.

What you will learn

  • Understanding the skills and talents members have (removing labels and stigmas, eliciting our skills and talents, building confidence that people can influence effectively, working ethically and safely)
  • Knowing what we want (learning how to explore what it is that we think we want and discovering what we truly want).
  • How to Chair or Facilitate a meeting
    • Purpose
    • The skills that you need
    • What to do before, during and after the meeting
    • Tools to help you manage people and the group dynamic
  • Developing the Group Ask (using the skills that we have learnt into a group setting to facilitate and present a group ask).

Through their newly acquired knowledge and feeling of empowerment, attendees will have the confidence to facilitate a group meeting or discussion at a pace and level that they are comfortable with. They will not only be able to recognise the incredible talents and skills that they possess, but you will be able to help others recognise how incredible they are too. They will have the tools to work out, individually or in groups, what you and they WANT.

This is the foundation course designed for newly formed or forming groups as well as existing groups that are looking to develop co-production within their own setting.

Making the Difference

This is the follow on course from Being the Difference. It takes a group further along the journey of working together by establishing a group purpose and set of values. This gives the group the framework to work within as they move forward.

What you will learn

  • Our journey into the room (recognising the commonalities of our individual journeys and why we are here).
  • Values, Purpose and knowing who I am (Understanding what role these play in our own lives to help us achieve what we want to achieve).
  • Setting the groups purpose and values (developing a group purpose and a value set to work within).
  • Getting what we want.

Who is this for?

This is primarily for local groups who have attended Being the Difference. It can also be groups who wish develop their own purpose and set of values for them to work within.

The Wealth Within

Over the course you will learn how to lose the negative labels that hold us back and how to give and receive feedback as a gift. You will learn a simple technique to improve the way that you think about yourself. You will go on to learn how to recognise the often hidden skills and talents that you have. By the end of the course you will have learnt not only the importance of values and purpose and how they help you achieve whatever it is that you want to achieve, but how to set your own. You will have a tool kit to help you work out what it is that you want.

  • How to get rid of the labels that are given to us and understand our stories, skills and talents.
  • The importance of giving and receiving feedback as a way of being kind to ourselves and others.
  • What our values are and how these help us to connect with people.

Our facilitator training course helps you recognise the types of people that could attend, what you will need to do before, during and after a meeting, and how to manage yourself and the group dynamic.

This is a real hands on opportunity for you to develop your skills and grow in a safe environment so that you will have the confidence to chair or facilitate an online meeting.

For anybody wishing to learn how to facilitate meetings, for those who already are but want to increase their knowledge, skills and confidence. This is also a great opportunity to boost confidence and learn skills that are transferable, ie for research purposes.

Online Facilitator Training

Peer Research Training

Peer research is becoming ever more a necessity for policy and research projects, informing decision making and to contributing toward the funding and commissioning process. Local peer researchers who understand and appreciate the area of research and the environment it sits within are a valuable asset when carrying out qualitive research.
